Senior Independent Director Jeremy Darroch to Succeed Sinclair after 2024 Annual General Meeting

Consumer-goods giant Reckitt Benckiser has announced that Chair Chris Sinclair will be retiring after the upcoming 2024 annual general meeting in May. Sinclair, who has served a full nine-year term, will be succeeded by Senior Independent Director Jeremy Darroch.

Reckitt Benckiser, known for its popular brands such as Dettol, Harpic, and Durex, made the announcement on Wednesday. Darroch joined the company’s board as the senior independent nonexecutive director in November 2022. With an impressive career in the consumer retail sector, Darroch has held key positions in some of the U.K.’s most prominent companies, including Marks and Spencer Group and Burberry Group. He currently serves as the chair of the National Oceanography Centre.

Sinclair commended Darroch’s extensive expertise in the consumer retail environment, gained through his executive roles at Sky, DSG International, and Proctor and Gamble. He also praised Darroch’s dedication to responsible and sustainable business practices, along with his successful track record of creating value for shareholders.
