The French CAC 40 index fell 0.40% to 7,184.82, while the German DAX remained flat at 15,557.29. Similarly, the FTSE 100 index showed no significant change, closing at 7,683.91.
Major Decreases Among Constituents
ING Groep N.V., a prominent banking/credit company, experienced the largest decrease on Friday, with shares falling by 6.4%. ABN AMRO Bank N.V., a banking firm, and Amplifon S.p.A., a health care/life sciences company, also witnessed notable drops of 4.5% and 4.3%, respectively.
Top Five Largest Decreases
Apart from ING Groep N.V., two other companies faced significant declines. Samhaellsbyggnadsbolaget i Norden AB Series B, a technology company, and Demant A/S, a health care/life sciences company, both saw their stocks decline by 4.0% and 3.8%, respectively.
Biggest Increase Among Constituents
Among the constituents of the Stoxx Europe 600 index, Adevinta ASA, a business services company, experienced the largest increase on Friday, with shares skyrocketing by 26.5%.
Other Notable Increases
Shares of Schibsted ASA, a printing/publishing firm, and Ocado Group PLC, a retail company, showed remarkable growth with increases of 12.9% and 6.7%, respectively.
Top Five Largest Increases
Prosus N.V., a technology company, and Ubisoft Entertainment S.A., a leisure/travel goods company, rounded out the top five largest increases, with their stocks rising by 4.7% and 4.5%, respectively.
Currency and Commodity Performance
The pound was down 0.32% against the dollar, while the euro witnessed a minor decrease of 0.01%. Brent crude increased by 0.35% to reach $93.63.
Bond Yield Changes
The yield on the 10-year gilt fell by 5.37 basis points to 4.251%, while the yield on the German 10-year bund increased by 0.210 basis points to 2.74%.
